ISO 22000 Certification

FOOD SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS

In the global food industry, the most competitive companies understand that safety is the cornerstone of their success. Food hygiene safety has always been a key issue for the agri-food supply chain, and the focus on this topic has led to the development of numerous standards and regulations over the years.

WHAT IS THE ISO 22000 STANDARD?

Historically, specific product and management standards like IFS, HACCP, and DIN ISO 9001 were created for individual segments of food production to ensure that food is produced with quality and safety in mind. The ISO 22000 standard was subsequently developed to establish a comprehensive and internationally recognized quality benchmark for the future.

ISO 22000 is an international standard developed with the intent to harmonize various HACCP schemes with standards for verifying food hygiene safety. The standard offers a process-oriented methodology for creating, implementing, and enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of a food safety management system. It considers legal requirements and obligations related to product liability.

  • Surveillance visits during the validity period of the certificate, aimed at monitoring the maintenance of the system and continuous improvement
  • Renewal of certification (at expiration).

"Farm to Fork" Strategy

ISO 22000 is applicable to all participants in the food value chain. The Farm-to-Fork approach of ISO 22000 fosters effective communication, uniform practices, and trust-building among the diverse stakeholders in the food industry. This lays the groundwork for more efficient hazard and risk management.
