Expediting | Bureau Veritas
Compliance with your project schedule through deadline monitoring at the supplier
Thanks to globalization, it is possible to purchase different materials or components for a single project from different suppliers in different countries. However, if only one supplier is unable to meet a delivery date, the entire project can quickly be jeopardized, even if the product in question is only a small part of the overall project - especially if you produce just in time.
Deadline monitoring as part of our expediting service helps you to immediately identify and minimize the risk of a delay in delivery by suppliers. Expediting is an English word for quality and deadline control measures in the context of technical purchasing. The monitoring of production processes as part of expediting directly at the supplier's premises ensures that all necessary steps are taken in good time and that contractually agreed delivery dates are met, so that nothing stands in the way of the success of your project.

#WeAreHereForYou
EXPEDITING IS WORTHWHILE FOR YOU, ESPECIALLY WITH:
- Extensive, time-critical projects
- Cross-country skiers (rare components with long delivery times)
- Materials that are difficult to procure (few alternative suppliers)
- New supplier or change of supplier
Through our global network of inspectors we are always able to provide you with the appropriate expediting expert. Our aim is to ensure that we have the product-specific experience and industry knowledge of the relevant production processes and thus competently represent your interests directly at the supplier's site.
Thus, bottlenecks and potential causes of delays can be identified as quickly as possible by expediting and the effectiveness of countermeasures can be monitored.
YOUR ADVANTAGES THROUGH DEADLINE MONITORING:
-
RISK MINIMISATION
Undesirable and expensive delays in delivery are reduced.
-
ON-DEMAND PRODUCTION
Enabling just-in-time production.
-
SAVE TIME AND TRAVEL COSTS
Saving of time and travel expenses (compared to independent execution).
-
CARE AND PRIORITY OF YOUR ORDER
It is ensured that the supplier treats your order with care and priority.
Deadline monitoring is carried out by means of inspections and tests before, during and after production - and especially at production-specific and critical milestones - during inspection visits. A target/actual comparison of the production progress is carried out and you receive detailed progress reports.
The mentioned milestones and criteria requiring monitoring include:
- Order status
- Availability of materials in stock, or material receipt
- Design review, construction drawings and workshop plans
- Scheduled progress of production, e.g. welding, heat treatment, coating, assembly
- QA tests (e.g. NDT, pressure tests, functional tests and similar)
- Packaging
- Shipping and delivery
Our goal is to help your project succeed by ensuring that your order reaches you at the agreed time.
In combination with a Shop Inspection, the detailed examination of the goods before dispatch by the supplier, we can also ensure that the ordered products meet your specifications and quality requirements exactly. After all, expediting is both a form of quality management and a contribution to continuous improvement.
