Extension of deadline: Conversion from BS OHSAS 18001 to ISO 45001 now possible until September 2021!

Aug 7 2020

The corona pandemic continues to pose major challenges for many companies even after the resumption of business operations. In many places, time, personnel and economic constraints make it difficult to meet deadlines and schedules.

The International Accreditation Forum (IAF) has now officially taken this as an opportunity to extend the migration period for OHSAS 18001 certification to ISO 45001:2018 by up to six months. Companies and organizations that currently still hold a certificate according to OHSAS 18001:2007 can now have their certificates extended until September 11, 2021, if the 3-year term is exceeded. While the objectives of both certifications are identical in essential aspects, ISO 45001 serves to unite all national and international management systems for occupational health and safety in a single standard.

In accordance with numerous global guidelines on remote business, the restrictions on the use of remote audits for ISO 45001 and OHSAS 18001 certifications have also been lifted, so that the migration audit can now be carried out 100% remotely on request.

To ensure that the required audit processes can be carried out on time, all migration audits should be completed by 30.04.2021 at the latest.

We would be happy to support you in the conversion of your occupational safety management system - on site or remotely.
