WHAT ARE THE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF LIFTING SYSTEMS?

Lifting equipment for people and/or loads, such as aerial work platforms (type PEMP), auxiliary cranes, overhead cranes, forklifts, telescopic handlers, loaders, and construction machinery equipped with a lifting system, require regular maintenance to ensure user safety.

In Switzerland, the Ordinance on the Prevention of Accidents (OPA) stipulates that work equipment must be maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. Consideration must be given to their intended use and the operating site. The results of maintenance operations must be recorded.

Work equipment exposed to harmful influences, such as heat, cold, corrosive substances, and gases, must be regularly inspected according to a predetermined plan. Inspections must also be carried out when exceptional events that may affect the safety of the work equipment have occurred. The results of the inspections must be recorded.

WHAT LIFTING SYSTEM INSPECTIONS DO WE OFFER?

We carry out voluntary annual periodic inspections to ensure:

• Compliance with previous requirements

We carry out extraordinary inspections in case of:

• A negative outcome of the previous periodic inspection
• Significant incidents, even without injury
• Constructive modifications not included in regular or extraordinary maintenance
• A successful extraordinary inspection is essential for the re-commissioning of the system.

We carry out periodic and extraordinary inspections on aerial work platforms, auxiliary cranes, overhead cranes, forklifts, telescopic handlers, loaders, and construction machinery equipped with a lifting system.
