Responsible Procurement

ENHANCE THE TRANSPARENCY OF YOUR COMMITMENT TO ETHICAL SOURCING

Your commitment to social responsibility transcends your individual actions and the confines of your business operations. There is a growing expectation for your company to exhibit a conscientious approach not only within the conventional "customer-supplier" dynamic but also throughout your supply chain.

Bureau Veritas can assist your company in fostering trust and enhancing the transparency of your supply chain concerning its social and environmental footprint, through a suite of customized services.

HOW CAN YOU ENSURE COMPLIANCE THROUGH RECOGNIZED CERTIFICATION OF A SUSTAINABLE SUPPLY CHAIN?

  • EICC (ELECTRONIC INDUSTRY CITIZENSHIP COALITION) CERTIFICATION
Formed in 2004, the EICC aims to foster a consistent code of conduct across the electronics and information and communications technology (ICT) sectors. The EICC Code of Conduct establishes criteria to guarantee:
    •    Secure working environments within the electronics industry's supply chain
    •    Respectful and dignified treatment of all employees
    •    Eco-friendly manufacturing practices
An EICC audit performed by our specialists can enhance your market standing and help you secure new clients in global tenders from top electronics firms
  • AIM Progress – SMETA
Leading consumer goods producers have come together in a worldwide alliance known as AIM Progress, dedicated to advancing ethical sourcing practices throughout the supply chain. Their objective is to enhance the efficiency of supplier assessments and minimize redundant evaluations. Suppliers are urged to:
    •    Submit their assessment reports directly to companies upon request
    •    Upload these reports through the Supplier Ethical Data Exchange (Sedex) platform
  • LBMA (LONDON BULLION MARKET ASSOCIATION) - RESPONSIBLE GOLD TRADING GUIDELINES
Significant measures have been implemented to oversee the risk of conflict financing through the acquisition of minerals and metals (tin, tungsten, tantalum, and gold) from conflict-affected regions like the Democratic Republic of Congo. Among these initiatives, the LBMA has released the “LBMA Responsible Gold Programme,” which is grounded in anti-money laundering principles, alongside a five-point framework for risk-based due diligence from the “OECD Due Diligence Guidance.
Bureau Veritas stands as one of the pioneering certification entities recommended for monitoring compliance with the LBMA Responsible Gold Trading Policy
  • THE RESPONSIBLE JEWELRY COUNCIL'S "CHAIN OF CUSTODY"
In March 2012, the Responsible Jewelry Council, a global, non-profit entity committed to rebuilding consumer trust in the jewelry sector, introduced its Chain of Custody standard. This standard also encompasses documentation related to the supply chain of precious metals. Bureau Veritas holds accreditation as a conformity assessment body for the RJC. The RJC outlines responsible sourcing as:
    •    Conflict-free sourcing as a fundamental requirement
    •    Ethical production practices at each stage of the supply chain
