ISO 14064-1 Verification (Corporate Carbon Footprint) | Bureau Veritas

Independent verification of your organization's carbon footprint

Organizations are increasingly under pressure to improve their sustainability performance. Their customers and other stakeholders expect them to take responsibility for their environmental impact and to be transparent about their carbon footprint. Companies can meet these expectations by calculating the corporate carbon footprint of their entire company, in addition to the product-specific carbon footprint, and having it verified by an independent third party, such as Bureau Veritas.

TRANSPARENT Greenhouse gas emissions BALANCE OF YOUR COMPANY THROUGH ISO 14064 VERIFICATION

The ISO 14064 series of standards, which consists of three parts, defines guidelines for determining, accounting for and verifying organizations' carbon footprints.

  • Part 1: ISO 14064-1 contains requirements and guidelines for the accounting and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions and their removals at the organizational level and is thus based on the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG) in terms of content. It is therefore a matter of calculating one's own corporate carbon footprint (CCF).
  • Part 2: If, on the other hand, the emissions generated within the scope of projects are to be recorded, ISO 14064-2 is used. This part of the series of standards defines systematic approaches for recording, monitoring and reporting greenhouse gas emissions and their reduction at project level.
  • Part 3: Verification of reporting of calculated emissions is then based on ISO 14064-3.

Bureau Veritas has been offering ISO 14064 verification since 2006 and has extensive experience with the standard. Verification allows you to voluntarily demonstrate the reliability of your carbon footprint calculations and measurements through public reporting.
