BUREAU VERITAS LAUNCHES THE FOURTH EDITION OF ITS GLOBAL ENERGY TRANSITION SURVEY
The global energy transition is entering a phase marked by increasing complexity. Electrification continues to accelerate, yet political support for climate policies is weakening. At the same time, geopolitical tensions are reshaping international energy markets.
In such a rapidly evolving context, organisations in the sector must find new ways to balance energy security, system resilience and decarbonisation objectives.
Key priorities for the transition towards 2026
Three main developments will influence the sector in the coming years:
- Growing pressure on electricity supply, driven by rising global demand.
- Higher exposure of energy infrastructures to geopolitical risks and supply‑chain disruptions.
- The need to reduce emissions, while keeping conventional energy sources operational during the transition.
Purpose of the 2026 Survey
The new edition of the Energy Transition Survey aims to understand how industry leaders and professionals are adapting their strategies and investment plans.
The questionnaire focuses on several important areas: global electricity demand trends,
diversification of the energy mix, strengthening and modernisation of power grids and decarbonisation pathways for conventional assets.
The insights collected will contribute to the 2026 Energy Transition Report, which will offer an updated perspective for policymakers, financial institutions and industrial stakeholders.
The initiative is open to experts working in the energy, finance, technology and public sectors.
To support broad international participation, the questionnaire is available in more than ten languages, allowing respondents from different regions to share their views easily.
