Privacy policy

Thank you for visiting our website. In the following, we would like to inform you about the handling of your data in accordance with Art. 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO).

responsibility

Responsible for the data processing described below is the body named in the legal notice.

HOSTING OF THE WEBSITE

The website is hosted by Acquia on Amazon Web Services Ireland Limited - One Burlington Plaza, Burlington Road, Dublin 4

Usage Data

When you visit our websites, usage data is automatically stored on our web server, which enables us to identify which content is of interest to you and which is of less interest. It is not possible for us to identify you or your company via the usage data. The data is used exclusively to analyse the call-up of the web pages and to protect us from irregular enquiries.

Below are the type of data that are automatically saved during your visit:

  • the internet domain and the IP address from which you access the website
  • the type of internet browser and operating system of the computer you use to access the site
  • date of use and duration of use
  • which pages you have visited on our website
  • if you have been redirected to our website from another website, the address of that site
  • if you were redirected to our website by a search engine, the address of the corresponding website and the search term you used

Existing Data

If you choose to provide us with personal information, we will only use that information for the specified purpose and only within the Bureau Veritas Group.

We will not transfer personal information to third parties outside the Bureau Veritas Group unless you have consented to such transfer and the transfer is for the purpose of optimising the processing of your orders or the preparation of an appropriate quotation.

SENDING E-MAILS VIA THE BUREAU VERITAS WEBSITE

If you send a question or comment to Bureau Veritas by e-mail and provide us with your name, e-mail address or postal address, we will only use your information to respond to your question or comment or to send you information about services in which you have previously expressed an interest.

Where you have consented, we will use your information to respond to your question or comment and to provide you with information about the services on our website that may be of interest to you, where you have specifically expressed an interest.

Under no circumstances will we disclose your name, email address or postal address to any external private organisation, commercial or otherwise, unless this is necessary to fulfil the purpose of the disclosure (e.g. as part of a reasonable quotation process).

STORAGE OF IP ADDRESSES

In addition, we store the full IP address transmitted by your web browser for a period of seven days for a strictly specific purpose, in the interest of being able to detect, limit and eliminate attacks on our websites. After this period, we delete or anonymise the IP address. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. f DSGVO.

DATA SECURITY

In order to protect your data from unwanted access as comprehensively as possible, we take technical and organisational measures. We use an encryption procedure on our websites. Your data is transmitted from your computer to our server and vice versa via the Internet using TLS encryption. You can usually recognise this by the fact that the lock symbol is closed in the status bar of your browser and the address line begins with https://.

This website takes extensive precautions to ensure the data security of user data: When you as a user transmit personal data to us via the Internet, your data is protected both online and offline. All your user data is only accessible to selected groups of people within our company. Only employees who work directly with the data are given access to personal data. Furthermore, all employees are regularly trained on our security and data protection policies.

Unfortunately, however, we cannot guarantee 100% secure data transfer over the Internet. Accordingly, despite our best efforts to protect your personal information, Bureau Veritas cannot guarantee the secure transmission of any information submitted to us or sent through our online services. You transmit data at your own risk. However, we make every effort to ensure the security of your data during transfer to our system.

Use of Cookies

We use cookies on our websites. For a more detailed explanation of cookies, please refer to our Cookie-Policy.

Google Analytics

We use the web analysis tool "Google Analytics" to design our websites in line with requirements. Google Analytics creates user profiles on the basis of pseudonyms. For this purpose, permanent cookies are stored on your terminal device and read by us. In this way, we are able to recognise returning visitors and count them as such.

Within the scope of Google Analytics, we are supported by Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC. (USA) as processors according to Art. 28 DSGVO. The data processing may therefore also take place outside the EU or EEA. With regard to Google LLC, an adequate level of data protection cannot be assumed due to processing in the USA. There is a risk that authorities may access the data for security and monitoring purposes without you being informed or having legal recourse. Please bear this in mind if you decide to give your consent to our use of Google Analytics.

IP anonymisation applies on this website. The IP address of the user is shortened within the member states of the EU and the European Economic Area. This shortening eliminates the personal reference of your IP address. Under the terms of the data sharing agreement between the website operators and Google Inc., Google Inc. uses the information collected to evaluate website usage and activity and to provide services relating to internet usage.

The data processing is based on your consent pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. a DSGVO or § 15 para. 3 p. 1 TMG, if you have given your consent via our banner. The transfer to a third country is based on Art. 49 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO.

You can revoke your consent at any time. To do so, please open the cookie banner by clicking on "Manage cookies" at the bottom right and make the appropriate settings via our banner.

THIRD-PARTY TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES FOR ADVERTISING PURPOSES (DOUBLE-CLICK)

We use cross-device tracking technologies so that you can receive targeted advertising on other websites based on your visit to our websites and so that we can see how effective our advertising measures have been.

The data processing is based on your consent pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. a DSGVO, provided that you have given your consent via our banner. Your consent is voluntary and can be revoked at any time.

HOW DOES TRACKING WORK?

When you visit our websites, it is possible that the third-party providers mentioned below retrieve recognition features for your browser or terminal device (e.g. a so-called browser fingerprint), evaluate your IP address, store or read recognition features on your terminal device (e.g. cookies) or gain access to individual tracking pixels.

The individual features can be used by the third-party providers to recognise your terminal device on other websites. We can commission the relevant third-party providers to display advertising based on the pages visited on our site.

WHAT DOES CROSS-DEVICE TRACKING MEAN?

If you log in to the third-party provider with your own user data, the respective recognition features of different browsers and end devices can be linked with each other. If, for example, the third-party provider has created a separate feature for the laptop, desktop PC or smartphone or tablet you use, these individual features can be assigned to each other as soon as you use a service of the third-party provider with your login data. In this way, the third-party provider can also target our advertising campaigns across different end devices.

WHICH THIRD-PARTY PROVIDERS DO WE USE IN THIS CONTEXT?

Below we list the third-party providers with whom we work for advertising purposes. Where data is processed outside the EU or EEA in this context, please note that there is a risk that authorities may access the data for security and monitoring purposes without informing you or allowing you to seek redress. If we use providers in unsafe third countries and you consent, the transfer to a third country is based on Art. 49 (1) lit. a DSGVO.

EMBEDDED VIDEOS

On our websites, we embed videos that are not stored on our servers. Only after clicking on the preview image, the content of the third party provider is reloaded. This provides the third-party provider with the information that you have accessed our site as well as the usage data technically required in this context. We have no influence on the further data processing by the third-party provider. By clicking on the preview image, you give us your consent to reload content from the third-party provider.

Please note that the embedding of many videos leads to your data being processed outside the EU or EEA. In some countries, there is a risk that authorities may access the data for security and surveillance purposes without informing you or allowing you to seek redress.

The embedding takes place on the basis of your consent pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. a DSGVO or § 15 TMG, provided you have given your consent by clicking on the preview image. The transfer to a third country is based on Art. 49 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO.

Captcha

We use the Google service reCaptcha to determine whether a human or a computer makes a certain entry in our contact form. Google checks whether you are a human or a computer using the following data, which is transmitted to Google: IP address of the terminal device used, the website that you visit with us and on which the captcha is embedded, the date and duration of the visit, the identification data of the browser and operating system type used, Google account if you are logged in to Google, mouse movements on the reCaptcha areas and tasks that require you to identify images. The legal basis for the data processing described is Art. 6 (1) (f) of the General Data Protection Regulation. There is a legitimate interest on our side in this data processing to ensure the security of our website and to protect us from automated entries (attacks).

Please note that embedding the reCaptcha results in your data being processed outside the EU or EEA. In the USA, there is a risk that authorities may access the data for security and monitoring purposes without you being informed or being able to appeal.

The transfer to a third country takes place on the basis of Art. 49 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO.

We have no influence on any further use of the transmitted data by Google. You can find more information on Google Captcha at https://www.google.com/policies/privacy.

Newsletter

You can order a newsletter on our website. Please note that we require certain data (at least your email address) to subscribe to the newsletter.

The newsletter will only be sent if you have given us your express consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. a DSGVO. After you have placed an order on our websites, you will receive a confirmation e-mail at the e-mail address you have provided (so-called double opt-in). You can revoke your consent at any time. You can easily revoke your consent, for example, by clicking on the unsubscribe link in every newsletter.

Within the scope of the newsletter registration, we store further data in addition to the data already mentioned, insofar as this is necessary for us to be able to prove that you have ordered our newsletter. This may include the storage of the full IP address at the time of ordering or confirming the newsletter, as well as a copy of the confirmation email sent by us. The corresponding data processing is based on Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. f DSGVO and is carried out in the interest of being able to account for the legality of the newsletter dispatch.

If you order our newsletter, we ask you to agree to further Newslettertracking as part of the ordering process.

If you give us the corresponding consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. a DSGVO, we will integrate individual tracking pixels into our newsletters, with which we can recognise when the newsletter sent to you was called up or opened and individualise the links present in the newsletter in order to be able to evaluate when you clicked on which link.

If you wish to withdraw your consent, please use the link provided in each newsletter to unsubscribe or adjust your consent.

DOWNLOADING INFORMATION FROM THE BUREAU VERITAS WEBSITE

We offer you the possibility to download whitepapers on our website. In order to send you the PDF whitepapers by e-mail, we need your e-mail address. We use the e-mail address exclusively to send you the PDF whitepaper. We then process your data on the basis of Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. b DSGVO.

ONLINE APPLICATION

We process your personal data in accordance with the applicable data protection regulations on the basis of Section 26 BDSG. We process the data that you disclose to us as part of your online application solely for the purpose of selecting applicants. Data will not be processed for any other purpose.

You yourself determine the scope of the data you wish to transmit to us as part of your online application. Online applications are transmitted electronically to our personnel department and processed there as quickly as possible. The transmission is encrypted. As a rule, applications are forwarded to the heads of the relevant departments in our company. If necessary, we also pass on your data to affiliated companies (in some cases also outside the EU) and/or service providers who support us e.g. in the areas of IT or archiving and destruction and with whom separate contracts for order processing have been concluded in each case. Your data will not be passed on beyond this. Your data will be treated confidentially in our company.

If your application is unsuccessful, your documents will be deleted after 6 months. In individual cases, individual data may be stored for longer (e.g. travel expense accounting). The duration of storage then depends on the statutory retention obligations, e.g. from the German Fiscal Code (6 years) or the German Commercial Code (10 years).

In the event that we may also consider your application for other or future job advertisements, we request that you make a corresponding note on the application. We will then process your data on the basis of your consent in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a DSGVO. You can revoke this consent at any time.

STORAGE PERIOD

Unless we have already informed you in detail about the storage period, we delete personal data when they are no longer required for the aforementioned processing purposes and no statutory retention obligations prevent deletion.
