MORE LEGAL CERTAINTY FOR THE RETAIL & SERVICES SECTOR
Bureau Veritas HSE Inspections is specifically designed to assist companies with multiple sales locations or a large network of branches in the area of occupational health and safety.
For retail and service companies in particular, it is often not easy to review the occupational health and safety requirements at each location and maintain them consistently at the same level of quality.
With the HSE Inspections, we support you in checking and fulfilling occupational health and safety requirements - this ensures more legal security.
FOR WHICH COMPANIES ARE HSE INSPECTIONS RELEVANT?
HSE inspections are basically of interest to all companies that sell their products or services via stationary retail and/or mail order and receive customers in their sales outlets or branches. The HSE Inspections not only offer advantages for companies that have a large branch network, but also for smaller retail companies that want to improve the health and safety conditions for their employees and customers. These include the following companies:
- Shops for clothing, sporting goods, toys, cosmetics or furniture
- Service & consulting oriented retail trade, e.g. pharmacies, bakeries or mobile phone stores
- Department stores with an extensive product range
- Supermarkets, discounters or grocery stores
- Banks and other financial service providers
- consumer electronics centers
- DIY superstores and garden centers
In principle, the HSE Inspections can be offered to all companies from the stationary retail trade or mail order business. If you would like to know whether your company is also suitable, please feel free to send us a message.
YOUR ADVANTAGES AT ONE GLANCE
With the HSE Inspections you provide more occupational health and safety in your sales and work areas - no question! But why is it also worthwhile for your company to opt for HSE Inspections?

HOLISTIC SERVICE WHEN IT COMES TO OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY
When implementing occupational health and safety in the retail trade / service sector, many different aspects have to be considered. Within the framework of Bureau Veritas HSE Inspections, both individual customer requirements are checked and compliance with legal requirements is ensured. Our industry experienced inspectors inspect among other things during the inspections in the sales and working areas:
Implementation of the organisational internal occupational health and safety (appointment of specialists for occupational safety, company physicians, evacuation, fire protection and first-aiders, safety officers, etc.)
Compliance with the Labour Act, Law on Accident Insurance, Ordinances 1 to 5 on the Labour Act (from which ordinance 3 is Health Protection), Ordinance on Accident Prevention, Chemicals Ordinance, Chemical Risk Reduction Ordinance, Ordinance on Construction Works and the Fire Safety Protection directives and cantonal ordinances.
- Risk assessment & operating instructions
- Documentation for testing electrical equipment, ventilation systems, lifts and fire extinguishers, among other things
- Fire protection concepts, escape and rescue routes
- Instructions (e.g. handling of hand-held cutting tools, ladders and steps, compressors, fire extinguishers, paper presses, hot appliances, fire protection, computer workstations)
EXAMINATION OF INDIVIDUAL CUSTOMER REQUIREMENTS
As part of our HSE Inspections, we can check your sales rooms and workspaces for individual criteria in addition to the legal requirements for occupational safety and thus ensure that internal company quality requirements are met (e.g. safety measures to reduce shoplifting, checking brand specifications). If you already have a predefined catalogue of criteria, this can be used to inspect your sales and work areas. If you have not yet defined any inspection criteria, our experts will work with you to develop a catalogue of criteria, an inspection plan and an evaluation system - individually tailored to the requirements of your company. We support you in this:
- Preparation of a HSE Inspections concept
- Definition of the relevant test criteria
- Creation of a catalogue of criteria
- Development of an evaluation system
