The transportation of high value and/or high risk cargo has become a challenge for industry due to the rapid increase in cargo theft. These goods have become prime targets of thieves in the distribution network when stored in warehouses and in transit. Reported losses have soared worldwide and the difficult task of protecting these assets has become a high priority.

What is TAPA?
TAPA (Transported Asset Protection Association) is an association of security professionals and related business partners from companies who have unified for the purpose of addressing the emerging cargo security threats. TAPA works with the insurance industry and law enforcement to
support efforts to minimize losses from cargo crime. TAPA has developed a worldwide Freight Security Standard (FSR) and a Trucking Security Standard (TSR) that are designed to ensure the safe and secure transit and storage of any TAPA member’s assets worldwide. These standards specify minimum acceptable security requirements for assets traveling throughout the distribution chain and the methods to be used in maintaining those standards.
