What is CB & GS Product Certification and what are the benefits?

A single CB Test Report/GS Certificate can be your passport to market access for more than 40 countries. A GS Mark is respected throughout Europe and is viewed with more value than a CE mark by retailers. Our CB and GS Certification package is a simple one-stop approach delivering the basis of European and worldwide certification at the outset of your project. We are also pleased to provide fast turnaround time, typically 21 working days for CB and GS Testing and Certification.

Benefits
• Fast Global Access. A CB Test Report/GS Certificate issued by a member body such as Bureau Veritas, can be used by manufacturers to obtain national marks in over 40 countries worldwide. With the partnership of our International Approvals Team, you can expand access beyond those 40 to as many as 150 countries.

• Growing Scheme. The CB Scheme is a fast growing approach with increasing recognition around the world. The annual number of certificates issued now exceeds 50,000 per year. Many non-member countries accept a CB Report/Certificate as the basis of market access.

• Scope of Certifications Issued. OFF (60950) equipment dominates with almost half of all certificates issued. The combination of TRON (60065) and HOUS (60335) plus OFF account for almost 85% of all certificates issued.

• Available Worldwide. A turnaround time of 21 working days is typical when you test your product at one of our global laboratories.

• Technical Requirements. Both Safety and EMC requirements are covered, based on IEC standards that allow for country differences. All member countries’ national deviations for the CB Scheme are included by Bureau Veritas/Curtis-Straus CB certification.

• Recognition.The GS Mark is a well-known and respected voluntary certification mark in the European Union.

• Customer Confidence. A GS Mark verifies to your customer and the consumer/end user that the product has been tested and certified to safety standards.

• Free Transfer. If you already use an existing agency, you can transfer to Bureau Veritas without charge.
